Yes, I’ve been gone for 5 months, i didn’t mean to abandon you my Nerd Knights, but it was not in vain!!! I moved to a new country 5 months ago (now living in Sydney, Australia), and you’ll be proud to know that I’ve been doing my geek duty of catching Pokemon near the Opera House (among other things)…
I’ve hit up most the comic book and games shops already, and had my go at some arcade games, i was killing it with Terry Bogard!
My friend and i destroyed a dinosaur FPS too, high scores on a few things, and i won a plush Pikachu 😎
The geek culture and fandom following here is definitely way higher than it is in Africa, so it’s really awesome to finally find a like-minded community to roam with.
Yes yes, i touched it when they said i mustn’t… you would have done the same! Anyhow, you found me! And I promise i wont disappear again any time soon 🙂
My brother and his wife were recently holidaying in Vienna, Austria, and they had the wonderful opportunity of experiencing the Star Wars Identities Exhibition. The actual costumes and model/ diorama sets which were used in the Star Wars films were on display. There was also Star Wars concept art on display, which I will save for a later blog post:

Imagine having that life-sized racing pod in your man cave?! I wouldn’t mind trying on Luke Skywalker’s pilot suit either 😎 What item would you be keen to have/display in your home?
Let’s go back to the 90s with Star Wars Micro Machines! I know Micro Machines is still making Star Wars merchandise today, but I don’t feel the quality is the same as it was in the 90s:
Star Wars Micro Machines Cases
The helmet cases open up to reveal specific scenes from the Star Wars universe. Some of the Micro Machine characters are so small, but the detail is still pretty good on that scale. Look how cute the little Ewok is below ❤ :
Star Wars Micro Machines
Some machines are bigger and have moving parts. The speeder below can ‘explode’ and disintegrate when you push a button (I think it’s about 4 parts assembled):
The Empire in my Passage
It’s my favorite place in the Star Wars universe: Jabba’s Palace! This is so cool, the trapdoor that Luke stands on actually does fall open when Jabba’s throne hits a weighted-lever. Of course the Rancor is waiting to receive Luke in the pit:
Jabbas Palace – Rancor Pit Micro Machines
The next Micro Machine scene is the garbage compactor on the Death Star. Again, the chute to the garbage area actually opens and the figures can slide down. The walls also actually move to close in on the characters:

Where would we be without our two trusty droids, hmm? Let’s not leave out R2-D2 and C-3PO. Here they are in their escape pod headed for Tatooine:
Class 6 Escape Pod – R2D2 and C3PO
The various Star Wars Micro Machine vehicles also have opening/ closing doors and cockpits for the figures to sit in, with other moving parts:

Do you have any of these/ other old school Star Wars Micro Machines? Please share yours 🙂
Where’s the Wookiee! I got this awesome search and find book where you have to spot a Wookiee in the chaos of each destination’s theme:
Where’s the Wookiee
Find these characters and more
The destinations take on some of our favorite planets and places from the Star Wars universe. I really love the cross-section details of buildings and vehicles throughout the book:
Finding the Wookiee was pretty easy for most destinations, except for the obvious Kashyyyk (where there are only Wookiees abound):
Don’t worry if you find the Wookiee on every page, there is a whole list of other characters at the back of the book that you can go back and look for. I recommend Where’s the Wookiee for any Star Wars fan/ anyone ho appreciates detail, oh and of course the kids will love it too.
Happy Monday everyone! There is nothing greater than warming your Monday blues up with a basket of cute and cuddly Ewoks:
They are of course one of the most loved species in the Star Wars universe. I got this limited edition Ewok celebration basket from the Disney store. There are six Ewoks in total (Wicket, Chief Chirpa, Teebo, Logray, Romba and Princess Kneesaa):
Ewok Celebration Basket
My mom keeps talking to them when she comes in and out of my room; saying things like, “come Wombles, you must pay rent Wombles, you can’t live here for free…” So I was like, ‘WTF is a Womble?’ I looked these things up, and I was pretty insulted – I’m sure the Ewoks would tear these Womble things to shreds:
Who do you prefer, Ewoks or Wombles?
Logray and Wicket
Oh, and I’m also petitioning to have the banishment of Logray overturned.
Happy Monday! Wooo! So, since there’s still a lot of hype around Star Wars with the Force Awakens being released, I thought I’d share some more old school action figures (still in the boxes):
Ben Kenobi Action Figure
Old Ben Kenobi is a 1995 release.
Emperor Palpatine Action Figure
Emperor Palpatine is a 1996 release.
Back of Kenobi and Palpatine Boxes
I wish I had collected all the figures and vehicles in these sets, they look really awesome, and of course you don’t beat old style and quality, but I was only 4 or 5 years old back then, so my collection habits were heavily reliant on mom and dad.
Did everyone enjoy The Force Awakens? I thought it was ok, but I wasn’t totally satisfied.
This is an update for where I’m at in Tribal Wars 2. Remember, I am playing as Ace Hardlight:
Inside my Main Village
I have almost fully maxed out my population space as you can see above (meaning I have a full offensive nuke ready to launch). I find the speed of Tribal Wars 2 much faster than TW 1 – or maybe it’s just the world i’m playing on.
My Village Under Attack
I haven’t had much opposition. 3 members of a different tribe tried to conquer 2 of my villages, but they failed dismally (mostly due to them not having a church in the province within which they were attacking. I ended up killing 9 nukes (full offensive armies) and 6 noblemen (the unit used to conquer villages – and he’s very expensive to lose). Here is an overview of one of these attacks which I defended:
After I defended all of these attacks and killed off all their units, I got the ‘Butcher of the Day’ achievement 😎 :
Butcher of the Day
I just conquered my most recent village. I have been naming my villages after planets/ moons. I’m starting to form a nice solar system of villages on the map lol. Here is what my overall profile is looking like:
Ace Hardlight Player Profile
Is anyone else playing? I’d be keen to team up if you are…
