Movie Loglines

Movie Log-lines

1.A power couple faces a tug of war with potential business partners (the US government). When the government becomes coercive, the couple (who has the resources to do so), blocks off their play in an impetuous bank robbery; by stealing the frozen contents of their own safe deposit box before the government can do the same.

2.A group of childhood boys are coming of age as they pursue perilous adventures throughout       their youth. Eventually, their foolhardy behaviour results in a fatality, which shocks them into adulthood.

3. A heavyweight boxing champion gets into the ring with the vengeful semi-professional son of a boxing legend whom he killed 14 years earlier in his career.

4.An ambitious janitor embarks on a journey of self discovery. Transformed, he returns home and uproots the world around him as a tyrannical business tycoon.

5.A moonlighting private art collector will only give up his technological trade secrets to a desperate entrepreneur billionaire; in exchange for a valuable portrait masterpiece, which needs to be forged and stolen.

6.The victory of a successful manned Mars landing is short lived when disaster on the return journey to Earth brings out horrific human instincts of primal survival.

Let me know which one you think is best, or rank them 🙂 thanks!

Cosmic Wanderlust – Poem

And there I stood, at the mouth of the precipice, and looked down into eternity. If only I could see a glimpse of the future there; in the dark backdrop, I could change direction for a more favourable outcome.

It showed me nothing but shadow at first. Then suddenly, as a deep well being spoken into, it heard my thoughts and echoed them back to me in question.

A mirror beyond the form, a mirror for the soul, to look deeper into our contents.

Hypnotised by the infinity of the drop, I gazed in the hollow space longer, blinking less frequently.

When I finally freely fell in, my body like a towel to black ink, I absorbed all the knowledge suspended in those empty spaces. As I accelerated still falling, the darkness fell above, and I was greeted by Light below me.

Suddenly I was no longer falling, but floating – in the universe. Surrounded by stars and planets and other cosmic wanderlust. Free to swim and see and know – wherever I pleased to float I could go…

Escape to Freedom – Poem

This poem is a metaphor for being trapped/ trying to overcome adversity/ escape to freedom… It is not complete yet, but soon 😎

Escape to Freedom:

Thor’s hammer hit the clouds, sparking ominous light.

And the white-webbed arteries branched above the sky, in a moonless and starless night.

Whilst down into a ravine I descended, as the Lightning flares flashed across the sky.

Then suddenly a ghost appeared; behind a cloud – it was the moon, entombed by grey- fearing the growing thunder’s growl.

I was trapped in the ravine for endless hours of anguish. But my mind and heart were escaped to a better place.

My body too would not surrender to the land, not like the decorative littering of other surrounding corpses.

I began drudging forward through the waste, certain only of awaiting freedom. The coarse of the journey to that destination was what kept me fighting for the balance of my feet. Teetering over harsh terrain to fight the geographic servitude of randomly landing in this ravine.

Suddenly the moon broke free. Framed in the empty spaces between the swelling clouds. It’s light had found me and smiled upon me to grace me with directions to a safer path.

I bypassed other solemn life. However, not all joy was repressed by the ravine. The orchids danced a synchro scene as the wind whistled through their leaves. The trees bowed too, to tickle the sand, before rising up in majestic grandeur – a salute to hope, no doubt.

And I didn’t realize until I was in the eye of the storm that the easier path asked so many questions of me, of my patience and courage.

The night time treaty (of peace) between light and dark was violently overthrown as the storm seized up again to erase the moon from the sky.

Lost without light; a hooded wanderer then suddenly appeared across my path, offering eager hands of guidance. So softly I reached out to receive their loving touch.

Startled! – by a rogue rod of light impaling the ground so near to us, we recoiled to the shielding safely of a sturdy Boulder.

From our new vantage, the way-out appeared clearer. The wanderer with firmer feet, and having the high ground pulled at me to gain momentum as we climbed toward our freedom.

Nearer we got to the mark of escape, and I almost felt compelled to look back to see what tumult I had survived. But to avoid the same fate of Lot’s wife, I abandoned whatever was past and looked only forward with faith.

Pillars of Creation – Poem

Pillars of Creation:

The Eagle Nebula is the origin of all our dreams,

And they are carried here by solar winds & soft light beams.

They travel far to touch your heart…

There they settle and will never depart.

Our dreams are made of magical things,

Like mythical creatures with fragile wings –

They cannot take flight on the storming seas,

But nor by the powerless whisp of a breeze.

They soar on high by that fire inside;

They are driven by passions, and not the fears that we hide.

And wherever we are ; just never forget –

Even from the very first moment we met;

The times we shared were precious but few;

But I’ll always be just one dream away from you.

I Am a Strange Stranger – Poem

In this poem I’ve personified ‘Life’ as a stranger speaking to me…

I Am a Strange Stranger:

Am I strange because I’m a stranger?

Or because I’m not a normal exchanger

Of weird uniqueness?

Is it the look in my eye;

Or the song in my sigh;

That makes you recoil and avoid the toil

Of understanding a stranger?

Although…it is quite intriguing for me; to love a stranger I cannot see –

But it is the risk we take;

The promise we make;

And the fear we break; to show:

That as strange as I am you may get to know;

A stranger is a relationship that you didn’t grow.

“Come take my hand; take a chance,

An odd occasion for you to enhance

The beauty of your dreams;

For a stranger is imagination bursting at the seams.”

“Which other stranger can fulfill your life with such variance?

To offer the splendor of a new-new experience?”

“Strangely, we can live a happy life of trust –

Before returning to ashes and returning to dust.

Courage is a fear you’ve already accepted;

And by taking my hand I know you’ve rejected

The guiding journey of the map,

For a story you’d be more delighted to regale and to recap.”

I do thank you for your loving nature;

For the time we’ve shared,

And when you cared enough to give ‘belief’.

So, with the tatters of my life re-sewn

I’d dare to venture in the unknown – with you:

Broad and above is the uncharted reaches of your love,

And were it not for your love; I would dare to endanger,

This love I call ‘Life’ –

But Life is a stranger…

Those Feelings

I cannot remember much of much

For nothing has had the worth of such

To be remembered.

It’s only my mind whose fleetful thinking

That will keep my heart from deeper sinking

But a moment is a moment that will pass.

Dreams follow dreams after each has fled

And after each chase my sorrow is shed

But I cannot hide in those worlds.

Not in the Snowglobe of activity

But outside I dwell; observing with liberty

The buzz and chaos of the world.

Alone, just let me be

Without any noise or company

Loving the melodies of silence.

Imaginary, hope of mine

Cannot dispel my fear of time

Nor failure, nor the disappointed reflections of thine eye.

Oh time machine of day to day

It is you who has brought me to future dismay!

Is life a gift or burden…?

It is the human touch of tarnish-potion

That has left me bleak without emotion:

Human morals are yet to evolve.

I’m consoled only by nature’s gentle touch

For I have never experienced anything as radiant as such

As by being kissed by the beauty of a sunset.

Lately…

Lately I’ve been dreaming, of a world so far.

Of a glade so splendid, suspended in the stars.

Lately I’ve been singing, of a verse so sweet.

Of a cherished lover, whom can my soul complete.

Lately I’ve been drawing, pictures true of sight.

To practice all my talents, in hope of God’s delight.

Lately I’ve been praying, for a meager hope.

For us all to action, virtues wide of scope.

Lately I’ve been writing, of desolation acts.

Where the greed of man, from our Earth subtracts.

Lately I’ve been seeing, visions lost in time.

Of portentous warnings, scorched our Earth sublime.

Lately I’ve been thinking, of ideas and many questions.

Where only I can find the answers, and these answers are my obsessions.

Man Must Leave the Moon – Poem

I have never ever shared my poetry with anyone (unless the poem was written for the person who read it). Humanity versus nature is a very strong theme in most of my writing; and to get to the point – i usually end up bashing humanity (I apologize in advance if I offend anyone). For the rest of this week I’m going to share some strong feelings about the above-mentioned theme, starting with this poem i wrote in 2012:

Galathilion - The Tree of the Moon

Galathilion – The Tree of the Moon

Man Must Leave the Moon:

Beyond all Stars, beyond deep space

there is dark matter in a stranger place –

and it’s far beyond our reach.

I lie awake at night and know

of these places far from here,

but nearer my imagination;

they are places I hold dear.

Who lives out there?

And looks on me; from cloud and star above?

Who will come to earth and save us;

from the absence of morals and love?

I cannot live; I cannot dream;

not knowing all there is.

For satisfaction evades a man who has not all his answers…

What’s in our past so dark and deep?

In the cinders of Alexandria that we did not keep

…There’s forgotten knowledge we will never breach;

It’s beyond our thoughts; beyond our reach.

I lie awake at night and think

of all these sorts of things;

and I’m enchanted even more

by the wonder that each brings.

I lie awake at night and know

the future of our earth.

Resource-less, many wars from now –

Do not hold hope for mirth.

Why must man have everything?

It is a sick corrosive greed:

The more I want – the more I need!

Please; man must leave the moon…

Not even the wise deliberating tides of the aging seas

will answer to my cries and pleas.

It is because our eyes on earthly things do dwell,

but from what height did the Fallen Angel fall when it fell?

What of this and what of that;

there is too much to ask…

But I know of some whose knowledge bank

is not challenged by this task.

There are some whose council I do beseech;

dwelling in a higher place,

above our thoughts,

beyond our reach.

But these answers have forsaken man;

for now and all eternity,

perhapsfor reasons beyond our thought;

for the greater good of humanity.

For man would worsen the world as such;

if he knew much more than his minor ‘much’.
